Tourism

The unique climate of Cyprus makes it possible to enjoy your holiday all year round. Only two months of the year can be called rainy - it's December and January, and the average water temperature in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Cyprus is 20C for more than six months. Cyprus is famous for its wildflowers (orchids alone there are over 38 species), covering the ground in spring with fragrant carpet of solid, plantations of oranges, lemons and grapefruit, filled the air with its exotic flavors. Cyprus beaches are considered the most sophisticated and safest in the Mediterranean.

Despite the fact that the majority of tourist facilities have modern pools, they are not as attractive to tourists as a crystal-clear and calm water of the eastern Mediterranean, where you can just swim with delight, snorkeling, or take a walk on a yacht, but for outdoor enthusiasts - with a breeze to ride on water skis.

Most of the tourist complexes are located near the picturesque ancient port of Kyrenia and the medieval walled city of Famagusta. Relatively narrow north coast of Cyprus is limited to the south ridge Besparmak, on the tops of which are medieval fortresses Kantara, and St. Buffavento Hillarion that gave shelter to the Crusaders during the Crusades. Undulating slopes are covered with abundant pine trees, olive trees and karobyvami, among which are scattered small picturesque villages. Most shops and restaurants are located along the road to the coast.

Cyprus established left-hand traffic, left a legacy of British colonial times. Problems with the organization of transport does not exist, since almost every hotel has representatives of companies offering cars to rent. Over the ridge stretches the fruitful plain Besparmak Mesaoria on which the State Ercan airport and the capital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus - Lefkosa (Nicosia).

To the east of the medieval walled city of Famagusta are the famous ruins of the ancient city of Salamis. In the northeast, the landscape is dominated by low rock formations surrounded by naturally-formed walls, between which there are numerous pastures interspersed with olive groves. Local beaches are rocky creeks and mixing sandy coves.
